The Club was formed in 1903 as the Kennel Club of Buffalo. Incorporation came in 1931 and the name was changed to Kennel Club of Buffalo, Inc. It is a non-profit organization and a member of the American Kennel Club (AKC). Our mission is to foster an understanding of the origins, purposes and standards of quality of the purebred dog. The Club also provides public education activities and promotes responsible pet ownership. The Kennel Club of Buffalo welcomes you to share in our love of dogs and the sport of dogs. Our members interests are varied, such as: agility, field trials, lure coursing, herding, rally, tracking, conformation, obedience and therapy. |
Some members train and work with therapy dogs in visits to nursing homes, Hospice, schools and libraries. The diversity of our members keeps our club meetings and activities fun and interesting. We welcome visitors to our meetings and, above all, we encourage everyone to come to our dog show. There you will find excellent examples of every breed and their devoted and enthusiastic owners. |
